Some of you long-time customers will remember the days when we were based in Redmond, WA. My late husband, Bud Wrona, mainly operated the business then and I helped him out. He also wrote articles for the local paper, in a column titled Off the Hoof, to help educate the community on, mainly, the proper care and feeding of horses.
I don't know why, but I saved many of these articles -- kept them neatly packed in a box and stored in an out-of-the-way place. In fact, they had been so much out of the way that I had nearly forgotten about them. It was only as part of my effort to get our website built that I remembered and uncovered them.

It was very fun, and educating I might add, to go back and read these articles. I would like to share them now with you. I will be publishing one article a week for as many of these as we have in a series that we will also call Off the Hoof. I hope you read, enjoy, learn, and share!

Bud Wrona Founder, Inventor of Ahsan

Bud Wrona was born and raised in Flaxville, Montana. He was involved with horse training and showing from an early age and eventually became a farrier. After serving in World War II, he settled in Washington to run a feed mill in Quincy and then a retail feed business in Redmond. Bud was a resident of Snohomish County for 50 years and was awarded a lifetime membership in the Snohomish County Half-Arabian Club. Along the way, he developed his own brand of horse feed, Ahsan, and wrote magazine articles for equine nutrition and training.
